Global Teachers’ Festival 2022 – WEEK TWO

We are delighted to invite you to Advancing Learning Global Teachers’ Festival organised by Macmillan Education from 14th to 25th February 2022. With world-leading teacher training, live Q & A sessions, opportunities to meet other teachers and much more, we have plenty to help teachers around the world, no matter your context or location. All you need to do is register and enjoy the festival.

With topics such as teaching online, inclusion, sustainability in the classroom, global skills, learner autonomy and many many more, the Global Teachers’ Festival 2022 promises to be the ELT teacher development event of the year!

WEEK TWO

Day Six – Monday 21th February

Session 1: Collaborative Learning: From Local to Global

In this session we will look at how we can develop collaboration between individual students to former stronger groups. We will also see one way in which we can even get classes from different parts of the world working together on projects

Session 2a: Global Citizenship Education: what exactly is a global citizen?

This session will look at the knowledge, skills and action Global Citizenship Education (GCE) seeks to instil in students. It will provide practical insights on bringing GCE into the ELT classroom, but also look at the type of citizen GCE aspires to. Are we looking for a generation of Gretas, Elons, or something more diverse and globally inclusive?

Session 2b: Gateway to the World Showcase and Q&A

Day Seven – Tuesday 22th February

Session 1: Real life and the classroom: making language learning meaningful

Day Eight – Wednesday 23th February

Session 1: Finding Peace in a Communicative Learning Environment

Session 2a: Mindfulness to support teacher’s wellbeing and resilience in day-to-day work life.

Day Nine – Thursday 24th February

Day Ten – Friday 25th February

Session 1: A toolkit for building student confidence in exam preparation courses
