I visited Huck and Tom in America in November and we had a great time fishing and sailing on the Mississippi river. One day when we returned home from fishing, we found a letter from Prince Edward VI of England. He invited us to the Palace for Christmas.
As it was the end of November we immediately set about making preparations for our departure. We had a long journey ahead of us to reach the palace by the 25th of December. The Prince was very happy with our visit. He gave us a tour of the palace and introduced us to the rules and rituals of Christmas preparations in the palace.
First ,we decorated the Christmas tree , then we wrapped the presents in colorful paper and put them under the Christmas tree. It was fun . Finally we learnt a few Christmas carols. I really liked “The Silent Night” ,which informed us about the birth of Jesus.
The most interesting thing was the hunting of wild boars and turkeys because it forms an important element of the Christmas dinner. Christmas pudding which is made from various dried fruits and syrup is also enjoyed.
In London the Thames river freezes in winter. Traditionally men and women play football on the ice and we joined them.
At 12 o’clock at night , a Christmas party was held in the palace in which the invited guests wore masks and danced. The Prince, myself, Edward and his friends unwrapped our presents , made wishes and were very happy.
I personally have the biggest wish of traveling around the world to different countries to experience their culture and traditions.
