It was late fall.
Every day Buck and the wolves raced, played and had fun.
Buck loved his new life with the wolves, he loved his friends and he loved the wild.
Sometimes, he would not be able to find food and had gone hungry, or he had to fight with the other wild animals. He loved that part too, because he knew, that these challenges were only making him stronger.
Once, Buck and his pack had a problem. There was not enough food for all of them in the place they lived.
So, they decided to move… they did not know where.
They just went forward and forward, up the Yukon River.
After many weeks they heard and smelled something new. The wolves were scared of this, but Buck knew the smell.
They had reached a village.
The village was bright and decorated and Buck recognized that too. He realized that it was New Year.
People were cheering and trying to hurry into their houses. Everyone was shouting: “Happy New Year!”
Buck barked at the wolves: “Everything is alright! It is a celebration!”
So, the pack stayed in the village and tried to find food.
Fortunately, they found a lot of food.
Then, when it got dark, something really scary happened. The pack heard a terrible sound, like gunshots repeating over and over, so they all hid under the balconies of the houses or the stores. Buck knew this sound as well, but he never knew what made these sounds. He was always really curious, so he came outside to look at the fireworks.
He had never seen something so beautiful before.
At that moment, he also remembered Judge Miller’s words: “Don’t be afraid friend, it’s just fireworks. It’s New Year; you need to make a wish”
Buck made a wish, to spend the rest of his life with the pack.
Do you think it came true? Of course!
He really was with his family until his very last moment.
My New Year’s
In 2023, I really want to get into the Komarovi Math School, I want to read a lot of new books, and study harder.
I also want to start going to acting classes, because becoming an actress is my dream.
I want to become successful in school and in Olympiads.
But most importantly, I want my family to be happy.
