Mulan was excited to spend New Year’s with her family. She had been away for several months, training with the army and fighting against the Huns. She couldn’t wait to see her loved ones again to celebrate the New Year together.
However, as the day approached, Mulan began to worry. She had been pretending to be a man while serving in the army and wasn’t sure how her family would react when they saw her as a woman. She wasn’t sure if they would accept her for who she truly was.
As the New Year’s Eve party began, Mulan’s fears seemed to be coming true. Her family was shocked and confused when she arrived in her traditional Chinese dress. They couldn’t understand why she had left to join the army and why she had disguised herself as a man.
Mulan tried to explain that she had only wanted to protect her family and her country. She had wanted to prove that she was just as capable as any man. But her words fell on deaf ears, as her family couldn’t understand her reasoning.
Feeling misunderstood and alone, Mulan retreated to her room. She sat on her bed, tears streaming down her face, wondering if she would ever be able to find acceptance and happiness.
Just as she was about to give up, there was a knock on her door. It was her father, who had come to apologize for not understanding her earlier. He told her that he was proud of her for standing up for what she believed in and for being true to herself. He was proud of her and He told her that he loved her no matter what.
Mulan’s heart was filled with joy and gratitude. She hugged her father tightly, grateful for his understanding and acceptance. Together, they celebrated the New Year and the start of a new chapter in their relationship.
As for me, in 2023, I hope to continue learning and growing as a person. I want to try new things and step out of my comfort zone. I also hope to be able to travel and visit new places. Most importantly, I want to be happy and healthy, surrounded by the people I love.
