Rati Merkviladze – Different Christmas

 Different Christmas 

All people like Christmas and so did pauper Tom and Prince Edward. It was different for them at that time. They were meeting New Year at different places. It was December. Everybody was getting ready for the Christmas. People were rushing to buy presents, decorate houses and Christmas trees.

Tom was in a big and luxury palace and he was surprised, because he had never seen such a big Christmas tree. He was dressed beautifully and  there were candles everywhere and Christmas decorations. Tom had delicious dishes on the biggest table. He had never had presents at Christmas. He did not know about Santa Claus and his reindeer. It was the best Christmas of his life.

However, Prince Edward was from a poor family. He always had

many presents and delicious food, but now he had very little food . He only had potatoes, a ginger cake and a bottle of juice. They had a small fir-tree and wreath on the door. It was snowing outside and the children were playing and skating on the ice.

Tom was with them and was having fun. All the children wished to have a coin to buy lollies and there were shows in the streets. It was amazing for Edward. Now he knew how the poor people celebrated Christmas. They had, but still they were happy. 

For Christmas we decorated our Christmas tree and it looked very beautiful. We decorated the room with lights that glitter at night. We ate delicious food and I helped mother and grandmother with all the preparations. I love Christmas and New Year’s.
