Marta Tordia – Christmas Essay

Today is Friday, the last day of school this year. The teacher enters wearing a blouse and a short dress.

– “Hello children, as you know, today is the last day of school. Today we have to share our New Year’s plans with each other, let’s start!”

Most of the children say that they are going abroad, but I… I am not going anywhere. I will just have to stay at home with my mother and father. I didn’t want to tell the class that I was not going abroad, because I was ashamed and thought everyone will pity me.

The teacher calls me and asks:

 – “Where will you spend the New Year? Are you staying home?”

-” I… I’m staying at home, but I think I’ll have a lot of fun with my family!” I answered.

I can’t believe I told the truth, but for some reason I am very happy. I returned home and saw my mother with a Christmas tree in hand. She asked me to help her decorate the tree and I agreed.

The Christmas tree is ready for the New Year. My mother asked me what present I want for the New Year.

-” I want…  a fox!” I replied.

– “A fox?” She yelled.

 – “I want a toy fox!” I said.

Mother calmed down and hugged me. New Year’s arrived and I happily ran down the stairs to open my gift. I opened the gift and indeed my mother bought me a toy fox! I was very happy and hugged my mother and father! Then we set the table and enjoyed a delicious meal together!
