This course is for people who want to improve their English related to the profession they are engaged with now or hope to engage with in the future.

Monday to Friday 10 am – 4 pm, four weeks

Course Dates

23rd July 2018 – 17th August 2018

Course includes your tuition, single room  accommodation  with private bathroom on campus for four weeks, plus breakfast and lunch on campus Monday to Friday.

During the morning, you will have lessons in general English to improve your overall level.

You’ll discuss and practise various elements of reading, writing and speaking in English.

You’ll discuss topics in groups, and reflect together on how well you’ve done and what you can do to improve.

In the afternoons, you’ll undertake English lessons that relate to your special area of interest.

This will be interactive, looking at case studies and where possible visiting places of interest to give you the opportunity to practice what you’ve learnt.

Business: improve your understanding of business, marketing and finance terminology, and develop confidence in report and presentation skills

Culture and creativity: explore English in relation to art, architecture, design and heritage, and exchange ideas about how you want to play your part

Information technology: learn terminology related to computing, programming and web design that can add valuable skills to your CV

Science and engineering: study the vocabulary of recording test results, writing case studies and communicating design specifications

You’ll work in groups on a project relating to your area of interest.

You’ll present this at the end of the course as both a poster and an oral presentation, and receive feedback on your work from the teacher.

You’ll also have the opportunity to develop a CV/resumé that reflects your English skills and knowledge of industry.
