(October 16, 1854- November 30, 1900)<\/p>\n

Novelist\/playwright\/poet Oscar Wilde dazzled 19th century society with his legendary wit and unflappable personality. He penned:\u00a0The Picture of Dorian Gray <\/em>and The Happy Prince and Other Stories<\/em>, among other works.<\/p>\n

Anne Tyler<\/b><\/p>\n

(October 25, 1941 \u2013 )<\/p>\n

American author, Tyler, has written several novels, four of which have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. She wrote The Accidental Tourist<\/i> and won the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction in 1985 and the Ambassador Book Award for Fiction in 1986. The novel was adapted into a 1988 award-winning film.<\/p>\n
