Trying to convince people with ideas and words is more effective than trying to force people to do what you want.<\/p>\n

Where does it come from?<\/p>\n

It was created by the English author, Edward Bulwer-Lytton,\u00a0in 1839, for his play Richelieu; Or the Conspiracy.<\/em><\/p>\n

The play was about\u00a0Cardinal Richelieu. His\u00a0line’s in Act II, scene II, was more fully:
