Nowadays, people who have free time do some\nactivities to have fun and enjoy. Here are some examples: reading books,\nwatching movies, playing board games and other stuff. Today\u2019s discussion is about\nbooks and movies. People have been divided in two categories for a long time.\nThose who prefer books over movies and those who prefer movies over books.\nLet\u2019s discuss both. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reading books improves our vocabulary and\nimagination. Imagination plays one of the most important role when we\u2019re\ntalking about books. While reading books we basically imagine character, its\nappearance, situation, personality and other. Reading books is about person\u2019s\ncreativity. Even if two people are reading same book, they imagine it\ndifferently, because every person is individual and has his own imagination.\nSome books have been turned into movies, but unfortunately screen adaptation of\nthe books often does not live up expectations of the audience. As I already\nsaid, while we read, we imagine environment where the action takes place. Characters\nthat we imagine come from our creativity and individualism while in the movies\nor series the director decides what kind of appearance actor will play. Here\nare some books that have been turned into movies: Hunger games, harry potter,\nlord of the rings, little women, pride and prejudice, the great Gatsby and\nothers. I personally imagined those books characters, situations and\nenvironment differently and when I watched movies I realized my imagination was\nreally different from the movies. Let\u2019s move onto movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
While we\u2019re watching movies, we don\u2019t use that\nmuch imagination, because movie director has already shown us the character and\nhis appearance, but we focus more on visual effects. Many people say that\nreading books is just a waste of time because watching a movie is so much\nshorter than reading a book. While watching a movie, you can\u2019t experience the\nlife of another person in 90 minutes. My personal choice is books and I prefer\nit over movies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In conclusion, we can\u2019t say which one is better, because everyone has individual choice and opinion. For example some children prefer movies, older people read more books than watch a movie, both of them- books and movies have different ways an ideas to present the story. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
