And who would ever want to live in a world like that?<\/p>\n<p>Below are interesting facts about the famous children\u2019s author.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dahl was a fighter pilot with the Royal Air Force during World War II. And it was a plane crash near Alexandria, Egypt that actually\u00a0inspired him to begin writing.<\/li>\n<li>Alongside fellow officers Ian Fleming and David Ogilvy, Dahl\u00a0provided intelligence\u00a0to an MI6 organization known as the British Security Coordination.<\/li>\n<li>Roald Dahl wrote many of his books in a shed in his garden, sitting upon an old battered armchair. He wrote everyday from 10 am to 12 noon and then from 4 pm to 6pm.
