The Holidays have started. Via and August were dismissed from school. Via\u2019s family started preparations for the New Year. They decorated the house, put up the Christmas tree and decorated it with New Year\u2019s lights.

Everyone was so happy. It was very warm in the house, but it was cold outside. Via and her mother went to a big supermarket. They bought some milk, bread, hot chocolate, some sweets and candies and ingredients for cakes and cookies . Via bought dog food for their puppy and a new Xbox CD for her brother. When they returned home it was very late.

The next day dawned. It was New Year\u2019s Eve. At first everything was going well, but in the afternoon everything went wrong. At first, their lights burnt out and then the Christmas tree caught fire and burned down. When Via\u2019s father went to buy a new Christmas tree he got into a terrible traffic jam and he did not return until 8 o\u2019clock in the evening. Everyone was sad and angry. They thought it was a very bad New Year, but they were wrong.

At 9 o\u2019clock Via got up and said: \u201dWhy are we sad? We are healthy, we have food and love. We must celebrate the New Year!\u201d Suddenly everyone felt happy because of Via\u2019s words. They ate their food. It started to snow. They went outside and played in the snow. Via\u2019s parents bought really cool gifts for the children. They put up a new Christmas tree and decorated the house with new lights. It was a really good day. They watched three movies. Via went to her best friend\u2019s house. August played on his XBox. In the evening they played in the snow too.
