Most people, who think about bees, think about getting stung. But that doesn’t do these incredible creatures justice. Bees fly through their life in search of flowers. They do so to collect pollen, which is a source of protein, for their hive and developing offspring.

In the process, a dusting of pollen clings to hairs on the bee’s body, where it is then transferred to the stigmas and stamens of plants. This ensures the next generation of fruits, nuts, and vegetables—not to mention the abundance of beautiful wildflowers.

Bees are quite literally champion pollinators: they are responsible for 70 percent of the fruit, vegetables, nuts, and seeds that we consume on a daily basis. To learn more, check out the video by AsapSCIENCE.
