Elene Tatulashvili – Greg’s Christmas

I chose the book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” because it’s my favorite book. I chose 2 characters. Their names are Manny and Greg. They are brothers. Manny is the youngest brother, and Greg is the middle child. The oldest child is Rodrick, but he was only mentioned once in this story.

Greg didn’t like Christmas anymore, because he got the same old, boring sweater every time. This year, his present looked big. It didn’t look like a sweater at all. He decided to peek into his gift. He saw a box and he could see the words: “Video Game”. He got very excited because he really wanted to have a new video game. Greg really wanted to try Minecraft, and he hoped that it would be a Minecraft game. Greg has been begging his mum for a Minecraft video game all year.

The day before Christmas, he couldn’t sleep. He was so excited. The next day, it was Christmas time. He could unbox his present now. He unboxed the present and…it was the video game he wanted! Greg’s brothers were unboxing their presents too. Greg’s little brother, Manny, got a sweater which was 10 times bigger than his actual size. It looked like the sweater Greg got for Christmas every year. This year it was his lucky Christmas!  

Manny didn’t like his gift, and he started crying. Greg’s older brother Rodrick got a guitar. He plays in a band called “Löded diper”. He plays rock music, and It would be very handy for him. Greg’s mum wanted to tell Greg and Manny something about the presents, but Greg was so excited, He dashed away from her and went into his room to play his video game. Mum was trying to make Manny happy, since he didn’t like his gift. It was strange that the video game had no picture on the cover, and it just said “Video Game”. Maybe his mum was trying to surprise him!

He was determined to know which game it was. So he opened it and put the CD into his TV. The screen lit up. Greg was devastated. It was a “Peppa Pig” game, which was obviously meant for Manny and not for him. His mum had accidentally mixed up the gifts. Greg had to give back the video game to Manny because it was his gift. Greg still ended up getting the sweater for the millionth time. He is still jealous of Manny, even though he got a Video game made for kids.
