Saba Meskhishvili – Books or Movies?

In my opinion watching a movie is better than reading a book, because when I watch a movie, I can see how characters look and I can feel their emotions which are very hard for me to experience by reading a book. I can’t imagine how the characters are when I read books. I prefer to see them in movies where they appear as the author imagined them. Sometimes there are some hints in movies and if you notice these hints, you will know what will happen next.

In Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone I thought Severus Snape was evil and he was Harry’s enemy, because at first when Harry saw Snape his scar started to hurt. When I looked closely I saw Quirrell standing behind him. That’s the reason Harry’s scar was hurting. In the book this detail is not present. In the Harry Potter movies, when Sirius Black, Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, Remus Lupin and the others died it was a very sad moment and I cried a lot. When I was reading the books, I felt no emotion and I was bored.

Harry Potter’s author J.K. Rowling participated in creating the screenplay and she was cooperating with the screenwriters, so the story did not change at all. J.K Rowling also chose every actor in the Harry Potter movies. These are the reasons why I prefer movies over books.
