Mariam Kazarashvili – Mulan’s New Year in Georgia

Once upon a time, a young man came to Georgia because he was interested to see how Georgians celebrated the New Year. He brought his sister Mulan with him, because she was curious too. Their brother’s name was Peter. Someone knocked on my door. I opened the door and I was astonished. It was Mulan and Peter.

“Hello.” I said.

“Hi.” They said.

“We are interested to see how Georgians celebrate New Year.”

“Of course, come in.” I said.

Then I showed them how we make Churchkhela, Gozinaki, Satsivi and other Georgian traditional Christmas dishes.

“Thank you for showing us and teaching us these things.”

“It is my pleasure.” I said.

Then I took them to the center of the capital city of Georgia and showed them the big Christmas tree. While walking through the Christmas fair, Mulan suddenly got lost among the crowd. To signal me, she climbed to the top of a tree and started waving a flag. I noticed her and called to her:

“Come down, Mulan. I am here. Do not worry.”

“Okay, coming.” She said.

The next day my class went on a school trip and I asked Mulan if she wanted to come. She agreed. We visited Experimentorium in Tbilisi and enjoyed interesting shows and experiments. Mulan was amazed. She immediately became interested in the topics of chemistry and physics.

In 2023, I want to be happy, healthy and I wish this to my parents, friends, grandparents, uncles, cousins and all the relatives as well. I wish there were no wars in the world and that all the children would be extremely happy with their parents, pets and loved ones.
